Lodi detectives and uniformed officers were joined by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office "in an effort to combat drug use in and around our schools," Police Chief Vincent Quatrone said.
"We are happy to report that during this sweep we did not uncover any evidence of narcotics on the premises at this time," the chief said. "This is the second year that this sweep conducted and failed to uncover any evidence of any narcotics."
Schools Supt. Frank Quatrone thanked law enforcement "for working collaboratively" on the annual sweep, which he said are "conducted annually in order to ensure that our students can learn in a safe and drug-free environment."
The police and the schools superintendent asked parents to be vigilant and talk to their children about the dangers of drugs.
"In the event that you notice any change in your child’s behavior and need help please contact us," the police chief added.
