LODI, N.J. -- Lodi police were hoping someone could help find a hit-and-run driver who left a 70-something man in critical condition after he tried to cross Route 46.
The victim was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit at Hackensack University Mecidal Center after being struck outside a QuickChek on the highway just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, responders said.
He remained in critical condition on Saturday with injuries that include a shattered hip, broken collarbone and broken ribs, a source with direct knowledge of the incident said.
Lodi police requested "any and all assistance" in finding the vehicle -- and, hopefully, the driver.
If you saw something or have information that would help investigators, please call Lodi Detective Sgt. Anthony Mobilio: (973) 473-7600, ext. 8126.
