Palisades Park Man Charged With Sexual Assault, Child Endangerment

PALISADES PARK, N.J. — A 54-year-old machine technician from Palisades Park was being held on $100,00 bail in the Bergen County after police arrested him on sexual assault and child endangerment charges.

Ramon J. Contreras was arrested after the Palisades Park Police Department received a report on Tuesday that a sexual assault of a child occurred at a home in the borough on Sunday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Thursday.

Borough police notified the Special Victims Unit, the prosecutor said, and a joint investigation followed.

Contreras had his first court appearance on Wednesday and bail was continued, Grewal said.
