The NJSP got the word from the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Unit last Wednesday and discovered that 40-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez might be in the Newark area, where he grew up.

The victim survived the March 23 attack and was able to identify Rodriguez as her assailant, they said.

Troopers working the case in New Jersey interviewed associates of Rodriguez and learned that “he may have been responsible for two other sexual assaults upon juvenile family members,” NJSP Sgt. Brian Polite said.

On Saturday, State Police detectives grabbed Rodriguez in an Oliver Street parking lot in Newark. He is being held in the Essex County Detention Center pending extradition proceedings.
