The robber entered the store in the 300 block around 11 p.m. and pulled a silver and black handgun from a Jansport backpack, Lt. Robert Salerno said.

Then he went behind the counter and "ordered the victim to empty the cash register and place the money in his backpack," the lieutenant said.

The victim described the robber as black, about 5-foot-8 with a thin build and wearing a Navy-blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a ski mask.

Salerno asked that anyone who has information or saw something that could help the investigation call the Lodi Police Police Detective Division: (973) 473–7600, ext. 8129.
