Lodi Man Charged In $200 Street Robbery, Assault

LODI, N.J. -- Lodi police arrested a 44-year-old ex-con who they said hit another borough man in the mouth while robbing him of $200.

Officers responding to Church Street just before 9:30 p.m. Monday found the victim bleeding from the mouth, Lt. Robert Salerno said Tuesday afternoon.

After he told them what happened, he pointed them to the Saint Joseph Boulevard residence of 44-year-old Michael Acevedo.

The officers then arrested Acevedo there.

He was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
