Nicholas Damico of Garfield was taken into custody after the girls reported the incident and investigators identified him, with help from patrol officers, Capt. Darren Sucorowski said.
The girls – ages 13 and 14 – told police he’d masturbated in full view and then walked past them with his genitals exposed before entering a Hartman Avenue residence just before 5:30 p.m. this past Sunday, Sucorowski said.
Damico was released pending a court hearing on charges of criminal sexual contact and child endangerment, the captain said.
Two years ago, Damico was charged with hiding in his Lodi girlfriend’s closet with a kitchen knife, then stabbong her ex-boyfriend several times in the chest — after which she was cut on the arm as she wrested the weapon from him.SEE: Garfield Man Charged With Stabbing Lodi Girlfriend’s Ex
The disposition of that case couldn't immediately be determined Friday .
