Garfield Little Leaguers Dig The Long Ball, Thanks To Police Prize

GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield Little Leaguers have a bit of added incentive to go deep this season: Local police are sponsoring a challenge sign.

The contest will run throughout the Little League baseball season.

Any player who hits the department's new bull's-eye sign in the outfield will win a $50 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods and a "Garfield Police Supporter" t-shirt.

A group of officers -- including members of the Community Affairs Division -- attended the league's Home Run Derby on Friday to help unveil the sign.

The contest will run throughout the Little League baseball season.
