Garfield Immigrant Caught Using Brother's Driver's License, Prosecutor Says

GARFIELD, N.J. -- An Israeli-Palestinian national from Garfield and an Argentinian national from Elmwood Park were caught using bogus identities to obtain New Jersey's driver's licenses, thanks to "facial scrub" forensic software, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said Wednesday.

Using the cutting edge software, the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission identified Ali Alsamna, a 30-year-old sandwich maker from Garfield, who Molinelli said was in the country on an expired visa and "used his brother’s identity in an attempt to obtain a New Jersey commercial driver’s license," Molinelli said.

The investigation also found that 45-year-old Analia Cejas, a nanny from Elmwood Park, "had recently obtained a visa and license in her actual identity but had previously obtained and maintained a New Jersey driver’s license in a stolen identity since 2007," the prosecutor said.

Detectives from Molinell's White Collar Crime unit arrested both Monday on fraud-related and tampering charges, he said.

They were being held on $10,000 each in the Bergen County Jail.
