GARFIELD, N.J. – Vincenzo Giardina, of Garfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 23. He was 84.
He was born in Solarino, Sicily, and spent time in both Italy and America, where he was a restaurateur for most of his life. He was a member of the Solarino Society Club in Paterson, N.J.
He is survived by four children, Santina Giardina-Mudanó and her husband, Giuseppe, Carmelo Giardina and his wife, Cindy, Giuseppe Giardina and his wife, Deborah, and Amalia Lopez and her husband, Osvaldo; a brother, Giuseppe Giardina and his wife, Maria; two sisters, Giuseppina Giardina and Maria Giardina; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
His wife, Irene, died in 2000.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
