Born in Garfield, Pokrowski lived in Rochelle Park for 67 years before she moved back to Garfield a year ago. She was a sales clerk for Lerner Shops in Paramus before she retired, and she'd previously worked at Cornells Clothing in Paramus.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Rochelle Park., and she was the membership co-chairperson of the Garfield AARP. She was very active at the Garfield Senior Center: she attended daily, was a member and was on the board of directors.
Pokrowski is survived by her son, Kenneth and his wife Helene; grandchildren Amy and her husband Jason, and Adam and his fiancée Alexa; great-grandchildren Alexis and Harper; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Henry Stephen Pokrowski; son Stephen Pokrowski; and siblings Lucy Giampetruzzi, Carmela Ippolito, Clara Tummillo, Julia Lusciandrello and Louis Giampetruzzi.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., in Garfield. The funeral will arrive at the funeral home at 8 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 9 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, in Garfield. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, in Saddle Brook.
