GARFIELD, N.J. — Eileen Tsigounis, 68, of Garfield, died Oct. 18.
She was a hairdresser, owning Eileen’s World of Beauty in Garfield for 12 years, retiring in 1979 to raise her family.
She was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, volunteering with the St. Therese Children’s Choir, and was a member of the Home and School Association, where she was the Fashion Show Chair.
She is survived by her husband, Gus Tsigounis; children, Christie Ann Tsigounis and fiancé John Feragola and Nikolas Tsigounis and wife Anastasia; grandchildren, Alicia, Eva, and Aribelle; and siblings, Cathy Makowka, Nina Taormina-Deyoe, and Charles Taormina.
Visiting will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave, Garfield. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, arriving at the funeral home and followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 188 MacArthur Ave., Garfield. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
