GARFIELD, N.J. -- Christine Egan, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 31. She was 85.
She was born March 31, 1931, to Francesca and Guiseppe Marmo in Garfield.
She married Walter Egan in 1956, moving to Fairfield in 1961. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Walter Kiddie & Co. and later worked primarily as a homemaker raising her children and devoting her time to family. Later in life, she worked alongside her son, Robert, and husband Walter at Cubby's Restaurant in Hackensack.
She enjoyed walking daily, reading her magazines and spending time with her family.
She was the mother of Kathleen Straus and her husband Andrew, Robert Egan and his wife Gladys, Colleen Tambuscio and her husband Robert and Patrick Egan and his wife Michele; sister of Frances Sabol and Antionette Raia and her late brothers Anthony Marmo, Joseph Marmo and Michael Marmo; grandmother of Brian Bergen and his wife Kristin, Kristen Brown and her husband Bill, Robert Bergen, Kaitlin, Matthew and Kimberly Tambuscio, Megan Egan, Lori Egan, Andrea Mani and Mia Egan; and great-grandmother of six. She also is survived by an extended family and many nieces and nephews.
