LODI, N.J. -- Anthony L. Calleo, of Lodi, died Aug. 29. He was 90.
Before retiring, he was a math teacher at Lodi High School and the head of the math department at Elmwood Park High School.
He served as a photographer for the U.S. Navy in World War II. He received his doctorate in mathematics from Seton Hall University and was a member of the Lodi Senior Citizens. He enjoyed being a world traveler and treasured his memories of his experience in the U.S. Navy.
He was the uncle of Valerie Shedlock, and Judy Solan and husband Dennis; great-uncle of Kristy, Eric and wife Kate, Danielle, Jaelyn and Mariela; and great-great-uncle of Benjamin and Madeline.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., Lodi, then to Our Lady of Mt. Virgin R.C. Church, 188 MacArthur Ave., Garfield for a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
