The fire ignited shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at the Metro Industrial Supply Company on the corner of Morell Place and Charles Street, responders said.

Firefighters cut through a garage door to access the bulk of the blaze, which was declared under control about an hour after it began.

No injuries were reported.

Mutual aid was provided at the scene or in coverage by Saddle Brook, Wallington and Elmwood Park firefighters.

Metro lists itself online as a "distributor of power transmission equipment, factory & mill supply, original European replacements parts, portable gas detection systems, proximity & photoelectric sensors."
