Frantic Father Runs Down Street After Car Thief Who Fled With His Young Son In Back Seat
A man who left his car running after he got out to use the ATM at his bank watched in horror as a thief slid behind the wheel and sped off with his 11-year-old son in the back seat, police in Tenafly, NJ said. The frightened father dashed out of the Chase Bank vestibule and grabbed the driver’s door handle of his Audi A8 -- but was knocked to the ground as the thief sped off on Central Avenue shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, April 3, Capt. Authorities: Burglar Caught In The Act During Tenafly Crime Spree Pulls Knife On Police
Caught inside the same house he broke into the night before, a Tenafly burglar brandished a kitchen knife at police before dawn Friday, authorities said. The 3 a.m. standoff capped a crime spree during which the same man and an accomplice burglarized a local restaurant and a California man stole a $7,000 bicycle after smashing the front window of a downtown bike shop, among other offenses, they said. Tenafly Pedestrian, 86, Hit By SUV Driven By Englewood Motorist, 84
An 86-year-old Tenafly man was hospitalized after he was struck by an SUV driven by an 84-year-old Englewood woman, authorities said. The victim was crossing Riveredge Road in Tenafly near the Stop and Shop driveway about 200 feet west of West Railroad Avenue when the Honda CR-V hit him shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Detective Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The driver stopped immediately and remained there, deMoncada said.
