Feds: Knifepoint Robber Who Choked Out Female Harrison Cab Dispatcher Gets 9½ Years
UPDATE: An ex-con who choked out a female dispatcher while robbing a Harrison taxicab company at knifepoint was sentenced to 9½ years without parole in federal prison. Alfuquan Turner, 46, of Newark took his chances with a jury rather than take a deal from the government after he was charged with robbing the Harrison Cab Company on Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard in Sept. 2019. Turner had his face covered with a plastic bag when he demanded money from the dispatcher, who told him there wasn't any in the office, prosecutors told jurors in U.S. District Court in Newark earlier this year. NJ Driver Caught With 14 Guns, Ammo, White Supremacist Materials After Crash Takes Plea Deal
A Sussex County man admitted in federal court that he had an arsenal of guns and ammo, some of which was in his van when it crashed into a tree off Route 80. Authorities who searched the vehicle and Lafayette Township home of Joseph Rubino, 59, after the July 2019 crash in Allamuchy said they also found white supremacist and racially-charged propaganda, along with illegal drugs. A medical chopper took Rubino and his 55-year-old passenger to Morristown Medical Center, New Jersey State Police said at the time. Both were seriously injured, they said. Search warrants were obtained after troope…

Bergenfield Man Who Shared Nude Pics With Victims' Pals, Family Sentenced For Cyberstalking
A Bergenfield man must spend the next 16 months in federal prison for posting naked and semi-naked photos of nearly two dozen victims and then sending the links to their families and friends. Rino Diamante, 26, continued the harassment for nearly four years, beginning in January 2016, stalking some of his victims on Facebook, federal authorities said. Rather than face trial, he took a deal from federal prosecutors following his arrest by the FBI. Diamante admitted during a video-conferenced guilty plea before a U.S. District Court judge in Newark last August that he posted the photos of pe…

Federal Pen Awaits FBI ‘Most Wanted’ Bergen County Car Dealer
After several years on the run, former Bergen County luxury car dealer Afzal “Bobby” Khan is facing the music. Khan admitted in federal court last week that he’d defrauded dozens of customers and lenders out of $1.5 million while he was the owner of Emporio Motor Group on Route 17 in Ramsey. The Scottish-born Khan, of Egg Harbor, obtained loans for vehicles that he had no title for — among them, Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis, Porsches — and sold them on consignment without paying the owners, an indictment returned by a federal grand jury had charged. Khan, 38, was on the FBI Newark Field Off…
