College Student Gets 10 Years For Stabbing Mom Dead In Rahway Home
A 26-year-old Rahway woman was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Friday, Jan. 26 after being found guilty of fatally stabbing her mother on in Feb. 2020 authorities said. Malika Jones was sentenced after being convicted of aggravated manslaughter, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Rahway Police Director Nicholas Breiner said. On Feb. 16, 2020 the Rahway Police Department responded to 100 East Albert Street and found Inell Jones, 58, fatally stabbed at the scene, authorities said. A joint funeral service has been set for the Alarcon family, the Union family who authorities say were slain in a murder-suicide at the hands of their matriarch, the Union Funeral Home announced. A funeral mass for Andrea Alarcon, 41, Ruben Alarcon, 51, and their two children, Scarlett, 9, and Emma, 6, will be on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 10:15 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in Union. Elizabeth Woman's Killer Captured: Cops
Gerard Manning has been captured. The 30-year-old man wanted in the killing of Victoria Myers on Thanksgiving morning in Elizabeth has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. Myers was found dead on Mravlag Manor Thursday morning, Nov. 23, officials said. Manning was on the lam ever since, and was arrested Friday, Nov. 24, Daniel said. NJ Amazon Driver's Killer Gets 25 Years Behind Bars: Prosecutor
A 28-year-old Plainfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the fatal shooting of an Amazon driver in 2021. Quahif Lane's sentence for aggravated manslaughter was handed down on Friday, May 26, by Union County Superior Court Judge Stacy Boretz, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. In September 2021, Plainfield Police responded to the 200 block of Garfield Ave and found Jamar Harris, a 36-year-old Newark resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, Daniel said. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, Daniel said.

A Fanwood chiropractor is facing prison time for sexually assaulting a patient, authorities said. A convicted carjacker who stole a Lyft driver's car after attacking hm and a passenger was sentenced to 29 years in New Jersey State Prison, authorities said.
