A 32-year-old woman who pushed a New Jersey resident into an oncoming train at a New York City subway platform in 2021 pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 8 and will be sentenced to 12 years in prison, authorities said.
On Oct. 4, 2021, Anthonia Egegbara, was sitting on a bench when she stood up, walked over to Lenny Javier, a Union City resident, and pushed her into the oncoming train at the Times Square subway station on the 1,2, 3 platform during the morning rush, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

Finding a better life in the U.S. was not a guarantee for Edwing Hernandez when he immigrated with his wife from Venezuela in 2012.
But it was a possibility.

UPDATE (March 27): A Hoboken man was charged with murder and aggravated assault in a triple shooting in Jersey City earlier this month.

Charges have been upgraded for a 23-year-old man after the man who he struck over the head during a robbery last week died, authorities in Hudson County said.
At 3 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, Union City police found Jorge Mocetzuma Espinoza unresponsive, and rushed him to Jersey City Medical Center with upper body injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine were among a variety of drugs seized from two people in Hudson County last week, authorities said.
Police were searching a residence on the 200 block of Front Street when they found Edgar Agramonte, a 38-year-old Union City resident, had cocaine and 15 ecstasy pills, on Friday, Aug. 25, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
Jessica Murphy, a Lake Hopatcong resident, was found with 20 grams of methamphetamine, two bags of heroin, Adderall and drug paraphernalia, Miller said.

Two people were arrested and three police officers were hospitalized while breaking up a fight at a Hudson County bar, authorities said.
Jersey City's Luis M. Baca-Turcios, 34, and Union City's Napoleon Anduray-Romero, 29, were each charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and more, in connection with the incident early Monday, July 17, in Guttenberg, police said.
