A 22-year-old driver has been charged with bias intimidation and harassment after allegedly speeding through a crosswalk filled with pro-Israel marchers, honking the horn, and making an obscene gesture, police said.
The incident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, following a march in support of the State of Israel, Franklin Lakes Police Chief Mark McCombs said.

Victor Ortiz, a Newark police sergeant, was arrested and charged on Thursday, Jan. 2 in connection with the death of Newark Traffic Control Officer Jairo Rodriguez last month, authorities said.
At 12:42 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, Rodriguez was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic following an event at the Prudential Center, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.

A suspended Little Ferry motorist deliberately got into his car and drove away from police, blowing a stop sign and a light before speeding past a school on the wrong side of the road, authorities said.
