New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick said that he's declining the Presidential Medal of Freedom because of the "tragic events" last week at the U.S. Capitol. "Recently, I was offered the opportunity to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which I was flattered by out of respect for what the honor represents and admiration for prior recipients," Belichick said in a statement released Monday. "Subsequently, the tragic events of last week occurred and the decision has been made not to move forward with the award," he added. "Above all, I am an American citizen with great …

Legalize It? NJ Pot Supporters First Need To Know Where To Find It On Ballot, Advocates Say
Polls show most New Jerseyans want marijuana legalized, but what Garden State voters may not know is that the question is on the back of the election ballot. A recent survey by the Stockton University Polling Institute found 66% of New Jersey respondents favoring legalized leaf. Separate polls have gotten 65% and 61% thumbs up, respectively. But those are polls, not elections. The difference: Referendum questions always go at the end of ballots, which usually leads to slimmer margins than polls. This year, the cannabis legalization question is on the back of the ballot. It’s left some a…

Legalize Prostitution Instead Of Pot, Former NJ Lt. Governor Says
Former New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno says she’d rather see the state legalize prostitution than recreational marijuana. “Clearly, there is a budget gap -- otherwise we wouldn't have a tax amnesty in New Jersey right now,” she told Fox 5’s Chasing News. “Let's go someplace else that is not going to hurt our children." "If we legalize prostitution, it's between two consenting adults,” said Guadagno, a Republican former county prosecutor who served as Chris Christie’s second-in-comman before losing the gubernatorial election last November to Democrat Phil Murphy, who favors legalizing rec…
