Runaway Dump Truck Crashes Into Hawthorne House A runaway dump truck sped down a Hawthorne block in reverse and slammed into a house just after noon Monday. A Paterson firefighter was taken by a Hawthorne ambulance to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson and a civilian was treated at the scene -- both for heat exhaustion. No one was inside the Sunrise Drive house, which is near the bottom of a cul-de-sac .-- although one of the homeowners was in the backyard pool.
