Docking Boat Passenger Slips, Drowns In Hudson River
A Nigerian man drowned in the Hudson River after falling off a docking boat, authorities said. The boat had made it into the Englewood Marina at the foot of the Palisades in Englewood Cliffs just north of the George Washington Bridge when he fell off shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Lt. A confirmed report of a jumper from the George Washington Bridge raised more questions than it answered. Responders said Port Authority police found the man threatening to jump from the upper level of the bridge around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He jumped into the Hudson River about 20 minutes later, they said. Edgewater Onlooker Draws Fire For Posting Photo Of Decomposed Hudson Floater
An employee at an Edgewater company drew criticism for tweeting photos Wednesday of a decomposed body floating in the Hudson River. Because the body hadn’t washed up, Edgewater police notified the NYPD Harbor Patrol, which has jurisdiction of the river, just before 11:30 a.m., Detective Sgt. Timothy Farrell said.
