A New Jersey boy was killed when a tree fell on him in a backyard, authorities said. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page. Police said he'd been playing with a friend in the backyard of a home when gusty winds blew the tree over, and it fell onto him around 12:09 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Police have identified the person struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train on Tuesday morning, Oct. 1. Tameko Joseph, 42, of Hackensack, was struck by Bergen County Line train 1154 near the Garfield Station, near Outwater Lane, just before 7:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. A fire at a New Jersey Transit parking garage destroyed an old-fashioned Rolls Royce on Wednesday, Sept. 11. A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt. No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time.
