Accused Dealer Charged With Fentanyl-Laced Crack Death Of Jersey City Man At Lyndhurst Hotel
An accused drug dealer from Bloomfield provided the drugs that killed a user from Jersey City at a Lyndhurst motel, authorities charged. Alberto Delgado, 43, was accused of selling the fentanyl-laced crack that killed 54-year-old Luke Revell after he smoked it at the Winslow Motor Hotel just off eastbound Route 3. Delgado had more than a pound and a half of the drugs in a storage unit when detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office searched it, according to a complaint on file in Superior Court in Hackensack. Lyndhurst police boxed in a pair of Passaic teens and quickly took both into custody as they tried to pass through town in an SUV stolen out of Clifton, authorities said. Officer Michael D’Alesandro, who'd just finished his shift, spotted the Acura MDX on Ridge Road, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. A 22-year-old Secaucus man who was already known to Lyndhurst police was nabbed following what began as a shoplifting and turned into a robbery, authorities said. Daniel Soto punched and then spit on an employee of a Riverside Avenue store who confronted him on Sunday, Jan. 21, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. ): Gas Tanker Flips From One Side Of Route 17 To Other, Dealership Destroyed
In nothing short of a miracle, no serious injuries were reported after a gas tanker truck exploded into a huge fireball on Route 17 Monday morning. A used car dealership and many of its two dozen or so vehicles were destroyed in the five-alarm blaze after the truck and a passenger vehicle collided near the U-turn at the White Castle on the highway's southbound side in Hasbrouck Heights at 5:43 a.m. Jan. 8. Somewhere In The Swamps Of East Rutherford: Garfield Vehicle Thief Crashes, Bails
The driver of a vehicle stolen out of Garfield crashed the car on an East Rutherford service road, bailed out and vanished into the swamps after being chased by the owner, authorities said. No injuries were reported. East Rutherford police had help establishing a perimeter after the thief was last seen near the Hilton off the eastbound Route 3 service road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, Capt. A Lyndhurst man who’s had several run-ins with police lately was arrested after he shot an acquaintance with an airsoft gun, authorities said. An eyewitness report of a man brandishing a handgun brought Officers Matthew Dudek, Anthony Giaquinto, and Robert Litterio to a home on Copeland Avenue between Stuyvesant and 10th Street. Three Elizabeth men who committed nine armed robberies in less than four months in New Jersey and New York were sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
