Officer Hit By Bottle Thrown By Attendee Of Party With Underage Drinkers In Hasbrouck Heights
A Hasbrouck Heights police officer was struck by a bottle thrown through the open window of a patrol car while approaching a group of 75 mostly underage attendees of an illegal drinking party at a local home, authorities said. Although the officer escaped serious injury, whoever threw the bottle will be prosecuted aggressively, Hasbrouck Heights Police Chief Joseph Rinke said. Six Vehicles Swiped From Hasbrouck Heights Used Car Lots
It's not just late-model luxury cars that auto thieves are coveting: One crew just swiped six older vehicles from two neighboring used-car lots in Hasbrouck Heights, authorities said. The burglars broke into dealerships across from one another on Railroad Avenue sometime after dark Sunday, Dec. 11, and before mid-morning on Monday, Police Chief Joseph Rinke said. Authorities were trying to determine who fired several shots into a Hasbrouck Heights business that had closed for the day. No one was injured in what Police Capt. Joseph Rinke, the officer in charge of the department, said was an isolated incident at a multi-use building at 440 Boulevard early Saturday evening, Feb. 19. Police: Probationary Driver Who Crashed Off Route 17 Registers Nearly Twice Legal Alcohol Limit
A probationary driver was drunk when he crashed his car off Route 17, authorities said. Samuel E. Holloman III of Wood-Ridge lost control of the 2015 Lexus while trying to exit the southbound highway at Henry Street shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, Police Capt. Hasbrouck Heights Flasher Strikes Twice On Same Street, Police Make Arrest
A woman had told Hasbrouck Heights police how a man exposed himself to her and her two young children when another report came in from barely a block away. Officers arrested borough resident Todd Wagner, 56, moments later, said Capt. Joseph Rinke, the officer in charge of the department.
