Three Tickets Sold In North Jersey Split Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot
It was a happy Halloween for three lottery players in North Jersey. Three tickets, sold in Bergen County, Newark and Jersey City, matched all five numbers drawn splitting the $166,806 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the drawing on Thursday, Oct. 31, with each ticket worth $55,602. The tickets were sold at Acme in Allendale, Welsh Farms in Newark and Green Deli in Jersey City. The winning numbers were: 05, 17, 28, 30 and 31 and the XTRA number was: 02. The Bullseye number was 31. ·

Hackensack Man Convicted After Four Armed Robberies In One Night: Hudson County Prosecutor
A 37-year-old Hackensack man was convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 29 for his role in a string of armed robberies in Hudson County over the course of one night in April 2022, authorities said. The conviction stem from four armed robberies that were reported between the late night hours of Friday, April 29, 2022 and the early morning hours of Saturday, April 30, 2022. In each incident, Joel Krecz brandished a handgun and money was demanded from the clerk working at a business, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Big Lots To Shut These New Jersey Stores: Closing Sales Under Way
Big Lots! has announced the closures of even more locations since filing for bankruptcy in September. The company announced on Monday, Sept. 9 that it will sell its assets to an affiliate of private equity firm Nexus Capital Management. Gabriela Ayala-Cortes, a mom and Verona resident, died on Thursday, Oct. 10 at the age of 45 of cancer, according to her obituary on the Shooks Cedar Grove Funeral Home. Bayonne Burglar, 'Heavyset' Getaway Driver Tracked Down In Jersey City: Police
A Jersey City man trying to break into a Bayonne home and his getaway driver are in custody, police said. Kenneth Dowdy, 43, was dressed in all black and trying to pry open an apartment door at 233 Avenue B in Bayonne when he was confronted by a building resident around 7:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, police said. "A witness then saw the actor enter the passenger seat of a vehicle that was parked nearby, which was being driven by a ‘heavy-set” female," police said in a release. Two Franklin Lakes Men Took $350K From Jersey City Church: Prosecutor
Two Franklin Lake residents were arrested this week and charged with theft and forgery related to construction work at a Jersey City church, authorities said. In 2021, Centurion Companies, a construction business owned by Christopher Poppe, 35, and Glen Poppe, 65, was hired by St. George and St. Shenouda Coptic Church in Jersey City to perform construction work, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarz said. Sarah Katz, of Jersey City, died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center on Sept. 10, 2022, according to her obituary. An 18-year-old Jersey City resident was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 1 after police found he hid a recording device inside a public restroom at a local mall, authorities said.
