Career North Jersey Law Enforcer Patents Safety Device To Better Protect Kids In School
As challenges to school safety grow, so do the ideas to address them. Career law enforcer Robert Licamara has produced one that he hopes will make schools in North Jersey and beyond safer. Ramirez, who was forced to close his barbershop in March, came up with the idea for a plexiglass shield while working at a carpentry shop he also owns, Pix11 reports. The shield contains a cutout large enough for the barber to fit their hands and tools through, and is on wheels, so the barber can work around a client's head. Ramirez is working on a…

Bergen County Latina Inventor Has Important Message For Female Entrepreneurs
Hipatia Lopez of Elmwood Park has an important message for other young, Latina entrepreneurs: Si se puede. The mom of three invented the Empanada Fork -- a tool used to seal the stuffed pastry -- but admits she had no idea what she was doing when she began her entrepreneurial journey. She vowed to herself that once she made it through, she'd share her story to motivate other entrepreneurs. Particularly Latinas, like herself, she said. "Si se puede!" That's Lopez's message to other aspiring entrepreneurs.Hipatia Lopez "Female inventors hold seven percent of U.S. patents and less than on…
