A Guatemalan national living in Dumont who authorities said was drunk when he hit two pedestrians with his sedan at a busy Ridgefield intersection – seriously injuring one of them – was seized by ICE, records show. Responding officers seized Esvin Duarte-Simon, 33, at the scene of the crash at Bergen Boulevard and Edgewater Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. last Friday, July 14, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Police: There's Another Side To Fight Between Bergen Firefighter, Cellphone Store Employee
UPDATE: There's another side to an incident involving a New Milford firefighter and an employee at a cellphone store in Bergenfield whom he accused of attacking him in front of his young son, borough police said early Tuesday evening. Daily Voice left a message early Tuesday with an employee at the T-Mobile store on South Washington Avenue who said the manager was expected at work sometime during the day. New Milford SUV Crash Follows Medical Episode
A driver apparently had a diabetic episode before her SUV crashed onto a corner property in New Milford. She got out on the passenger side of the Mazda following the crash at Henley Avenue and Bliss Drive. An ambulance took her to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck with what weren't considered life-threatening injuries. A tow truck removed the vehicle. Borough police and firefighters also responded.

Firefighters Battle Fourth Of July Blaze At Former Diner Near GWB In Fort Lee
A firefighter was hospitalized in a destructive Fourth of July fire at the site of the former Plaza Diner near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, responders said. The extent of injuries wasn’t immediately known. The fire, believed to be accidental, broke out in the rear of the Koryeo Grill on Lemoine Avenue around 7:45 a.m., authorities said. It quickly spread, forcing firefighters to battle it from the exterior. They had the blaze under control within two hours. A repeat-offending ex-con from Cliffside Park was captured after the NYPD came to town with a warrant, authorities said. Now New York City authorities are trying to extradite him. City detectives went to his mother's Anderson Avenue apartment looking for 27-year-old Jason Martinez, who was wanted in connection with a gang assault, authorities said. Other law enforcement agencies wanted Martinez, too. Records show an outstanding warrant for skipping court for obstruction during a domestic violence arrest in Cliffside Park in 2016.
