You might need to speak up when you're in these New Jersey cities. Jersey City and Newark made the top 5 on a new list of the noisiest cities in America, compiled by Steel Guard Safety Products. Harmful Algae Blooms Found In These New Jersey Lakes
Harmful algal blooms have been reported in 32 lakes across the state as of Sept. 1 -- and some are calling for action. In total, two lakes were at a red “warning” level, 20 were orange “advisory” level and 10 were at a blue “watch” level (scroll down for the breakdown). Bergen's Most Lopsided 2019 Primary Win: Incumbent Upper Saddle River Mayor Crushes Upstart
Incumbent Upper Saddle River Mayor Joanne Minichetti easily defeated an upstart candidate Tuesday in one of only eight municipalities in Bergen County that had contested primaries. In the most convincing defeat of all of Bergen's primary races, Minichetti got 75% of the vote (525) to a meager 171 for Erik Friis in the borough’s Republican runoff, according to unofficial results from the county Board of Elections.
