Alexander Michael Joseph Tabano, of Rutherford, died on Monday, Sept. 16. He was 25 years old. Alexander, formerly of Garfield, attended the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA and continued his education studying plumbing at Bergen Technical School, his obituary on the DiChiara Funeral Home website says. Walmart Cutting Hundreds Of Positions From North Jersey Office
Layoffs are ahead for more than 200 of Walmart's North Jersey employees. A New Jersey WARN notice says the company will begin the cuts to 237 positions at its corporate office in Hoboken on Aug. 14, with more to come on Nov. 1, and Jan. 31, 2025. According to the Wall Street Journal, employees may work remotely but are being asked to spend the majority of their times in the offices. Almost a year after it was called of amid public outcry, plans to demolish the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn have once again been finalized. "Demolition at the Nabisco site is expected to resume shortly, with state approval. A non-explosive demolition will be undertaken," said a post on the borough's website on Monday, April 22. More than 100 employees of New Jersey's largest health care system were fired for refusing to comply with its COVID vaccination policy, officials said.
