Senior Hackensack Couple Rescued From Glen Rock Riverbank After Parking Lot Crash
An elderly Hackensack couple were rescued after a mid-morning parking lot crash left their vehicle perched over a stream in Glen Rock, authorities said. Borough police, firefighters and EMS converged on the parking lot at 85 Harristown Road and found the pair stranded in their vehicle on the banks of the Diamond Brook. A 76-year-old driver was pinned beneath her own vehicle during a visit to a rehab and health care center in Oakland, authorities said. The victim forgot to put her 2018 Nissan Rogue in park when she got out in the lot of the Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center off Breakneck Road on Wednesday, Police Capt. Timothy Keenan said. The Rogue rolled backwards, knocking the driver down and pinning her beneath it, the captain said. A bicyclist from Teaneck suffered a fractured pelvis, elbow and wrist when she was struck at a busy Tenafly intersection by a sedan driven by an 83-year-old borough man, authorities said. Elderly Route 208 Driver Sends Car Through Fence
A driver more than 90 years old suffering an apparent medical episode sent his vehicle through a fence on Route 208 Thursday, May 12. The vehicle went through a fence on the southbound side of the highway, and came to rest in the backyard of a home on William Way around 2 p.m. The driver was hospitalized for evaluation and his passenger was unharmed. Wyckoff police, Wyckoff EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley responded. The car was towed and the fence was left heavily damaged. Boyd A. Loving also contributed to this story.
