Unlicensed, Uninsured Driver Climbs Out, Walks Off, Gets 14 Tickets After Cliffside Crash
An out-of-state driver with no license, registration or insurance was apparently intoxicated when she rear-ended a pickup truck at a busy Cliffside Park intersection, then climbed out of her overturned SUV and walked away, authorities said.
Caitlin Riggs, 36, of Wakefield, RI was headed south on Anderson Avenue at Edgewater Road when her 2015 Nissan Versa slammed into a 2011 Dodge Ram shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, Deputy Police Chief Vincent Capano said.
The Versa landed on its roof outside the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, while the pickup had its bed crumpled and a tire flattened.

Update: Ridgewood Driver In Glen Rock Crash Was Drunk, Police Charge
A Ridgewood driver was drunk when his SUV hit two parked vehicles and landed on its side in Glen Rock, authorities said.
Jason R. Romine, 40, was rescued through the moon roof of his 2002 Ford Expedition by Glen Rock Police Officer T. J. Graziani following the crash at the T intersection of Rock and Midwood roads shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
The pickup, a nearly 20-year-old Honda CR-V and a newer-model Honda Accord were all towed from the scene with extensive damage, witnesses said.

Ramsey Mom Charged With Leaving Scene Of Franklin Lakes DWI Crash
A Ramsey motorist was intoxicated when her SUV hit a median and she kept going, Franklin Lakes police said.
Alyson Allen, 42, was driving a 2020 Dodge Durango that hit the concrete divider on Parsons Pond Road around 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, Franklin Lakes Police Capt. Mark McCombs said.
Responding officers found her after the Durango became disabled about a quarter-mile away, the captain said.

Easton Man Crashes Into Tree, Hides In Warren County Farm During Drunken Hit-Run: State Police
An Easton man was intoxicated when he crashed into a tree in Warren County and fled into a nearby farm with two others, state police allege.
Troopers responded to a Honda Accord crash into a tree at Routes 632 and 643 in Franklin Township just after 1:20 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, NJSP Tpr. II Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com.
On the way, responders were told that three men exited the Accord and ran into a nearby farm, Marchan said.

NY Man Admits Killing Friend In South Jersey DWI Crash: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old man from Westchester County, NY, has pleaded guilty to killing a friend while driving impaired in South Jersey, authorities said.
Anthony Lorenz, of Ossining, NY, entered the plea Wednesday, April 6 in Superior Court in Mount Holly to charges of vehicular homicide, assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
Under an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, Lorenz will serve six years in New Jersey State Prison in exchange for the plea, and must complete 85 percent of the term before being considered for parole. …

A Sussex County woman admitted in court that she tried to hurt a police officer who stopped her for driving drunk, authorities said.
Gabriella Colon, 20, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and driving while intoxicated, Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said in a release on Tuesday, April 4.
Colon, a resident of Vernon, admitted to driving unsafely and “purposely attempting to cause bodily injury to a Vernon Township police officer while that officer was exhibiting evidence of their authority” while under the influence on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, Koch said.

A Volkswagen driver from Morris County was intoxicated when he crashed into a bridge in Hackettstown, authorities said.
Officers responding to the crash report on East Avenue found Timothy Mikesh, 43, behind the wheel of a 2016 Volkswagen just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, Hackettstown Police said in a Tuesday, Feb. 8 press release.

DWI Clark Driver Incessantly Honking Horn Refused To Cooperate With Officers, Hoboken PD Says
A Clark woman who continued wailing on her car horn even after an officer warned her to stop had been drinking, authorities in Hoboken said.
Officer Tyrone Huggins was standing near 2nd and Garden Street when he heard a continuous blowing of a car horn around 6 p.m. last Friday, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
The sound was coming from a silver Mazda in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and so Huggins gave the driver -- Janet Tung, 41, a verbal warning, Cabrera said.

DWI Motorcyclist, 28, Leads Police On Pursuit Through Passaic, Morris Counties
A Morris County motorcyclist had been drinking when he led officers on a pursuit through three different towns, authorities said.
Lincoln Park Police responded to the area of Valley Road on reports of of an erratic motorcycle driver May 1 around 10:30 p.m., authorities said.
The motorcyclist -- later identified as Elliot Montalvo, 28, of Towaco -- was located on Pinebrook Road, where police said he ran a stop sign, prompting them to pull him over.
