A Closter police officer found what amounted to a drug den on wheels when he stopped a driver just before midnight. One Tonnelle Avenue gas station in North Bergen was robbed and another was the scene of a carjacking less than 24 hours and barely a half-mile apart, authorities said. A 31-year-old New Jersey man wanted out of Pennsylvania was arrested after he was found with a stolen car and then led officers on a foot pursuit over the weekend, police said. Two bandits robbed multiple gas stations in Bergen and Passaic counties at gunpoint shortly before dawn on Sunday, responders said. A pedestrian was struck and killed on Christmas Eve on Route 17 in Ramsey, responders said. Initial details were scant.
