During the debate, Pataki, a Garrison resident and a Peekskill native, said that it's ridiculous to be questioning science and climate change in the 21st century, reported theweek.com.

The former governor also said he believes that part of the problem is Republicans think about climate change and then think that leads to more big government, added theweek com.

Pataki added that he would like to see more clean energy for the next generation and hopes the government will help "incentivize" those changes.
