FORT LEE, N.J. -- A livery driver claimed he was following his GPS when he was stopped driving the wrong way on the George Washington Bridge before dawn Thursday, police said.
All westbound traffic was stopped around 5 a.m. while construction workers tried to detain 58-year-old Sterno Dorcelian of Rahway, who'd gone the wrong way up Exit 73 off Route 95, the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
But the 2017 Toyota sedan kept going before Port Authority police stopped and arrested Dorcelian mid-span, Pentangelo said.
Dorcelian, formerly of North Lauderdale, FL, was taken to the PAPD station in Fort Lee, processed and released pending a Dec. 12 hearing.
