Mother and fawn had become separated when officers on the George Washington Bridge walkway heard cries from just below an area of Fort Lee Historic Park, overlooking the Hudson River, around 10:30 a.m., the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

With Officer Kevin Leonard securing him with a line from above, Andrew Vignapiano used a snare to retrieve the stranded but uninjured fawn, Pentangelo said.

A reunion with the mother followed, he said.
