The New Jersey Department of Military and Veteran Affairs held the event at Paramus Park Mall, where it will operate a veterans’ information kiosk through Thursday.
Among the recipients:
Angelo Pagano of Park Ridge, an Army veteran of Vietnam and World War II Army veteran Salvatore Ventura of New Milford, who shared war stories together after receiving the Distinguished Service Medal. Pagano also was given the Vietnam Service Medal.
Wheelchair-bound World War II veteran Irving Morgenstern of Fort Lee, who received the Meritorious Service Medal.
River Vale resident Donald Kuehn, received the Distinguished Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal for his service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Navy vet Ronald Cribier of Dumont, given the Distinguished Service Medal and the Vietnam Service medal for his service during the Vietnam War.

In addition to dozens of family members and friends, several elected officials were in attendance, including state Sen. Bob Gordon and Assemblywomen Joan Voss and Connie Wagner.
Local veterans can stop by the kiosk for more information on programs and other assistance as part of New Jersey’s Veterans Outreach Program. Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
