“He made his own plates using bought stick-on numbers,” the PAPD’s Al Della Fave told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “From what the guys said, he did a pretty convincing job.”
Michael Krasozski, 32, made it all the way from Florida with 10 cars being shipped for several New Yorkers when he rolled his rig through the George Washington Bridge toll in Fort Lee without paying — right in front of Officers Jason Malice and Michael Brennan, Della Fave said.
As the officers in the unmarked car pulled him over, they noticed that the front plate was from Arizona, where the company that owns the truck is based, and the rear tag was from Maine.
It turned out the numbers and letters on the plates were stickers, Krasozki was driving with a bogus registration and the truck wasn’t insured, Della Fave said.
Blowing the $50 five-axle EZ-Pass toll will now cost the rig’s owner and Krasozki — who Della Fave said was carrying more than $600 — quite a bit of cash. Then there’s the matter of getting the now-impounded cars to their owners.
