A Leonia police officer spotted the smoke and flames coming from an area of brush in the park’s south side around 12:20 a.m. and discovered the unoccupied Nissan Murano with no one around, CLIFFVIEW PILOT reported.
Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading through the brush.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office was investigating. The county Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
