An officer conducting routine safety checks at the upper level entrance to the bridge asked Cheikh Fall, 24, for the paperwork for his 2012 GMC truck around 10 a.m. Tuesday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
The officer "noticed a distinct smell of burnt marijuana from inside the truck" and was told by Fall that he'd smoked some earlier that morning, Pentangelo said.
Police found a small bag of pot on the center console and quickly learned that Fall's license had been suspended.
They arrested him on charges of DUI, driving a commercial truck with a suspended license and careless driving and released him pending a court hearing.
