Launching a campaign to raise $15,000 to help feed schoolchildren both in Kenya and here in Leonia, the Rotary Club of The Palisades is hosting a July 9 summer barbecue.
“We thought it would be nice to combine both local and international service projects,” club President David Dolch said.
“Our plan is to raise funds so that we can provide weekend snack packs for children who are on the free lunch program at Anna C. Scott Elementary School in Leonia but typically go hungry on weekends and over holiday breaks,” Dolch added.
“And we would also continue to fund a school hot lunch program for the 300 students at the Kishermoruak School in Kenya,” which the Rotary has sponsored since its inception.
