Aryeh Goodman, 35 of East Brunswick, was among 30 men that paid a couple from the Bronx to have sex with the 17-year-old between Jan. 1 and Feb. 2, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief James Conroy of the East Brunswick Police Department announced.
Goodman was formerly the rabbi of the Rutgers University Chabad, according to social media pages.
The couple -- Gabriella Colon, 18, and Richard Ortiz, 23 -- were charged with 11 criminal counts of human trafficking and child pornography charges after being arrested Friday in Fort Lee, the press release says.
Goodman, who paid to have sex with the teen at an East Brunswick hotel earlier this month, was charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.
Colon and Ortiz are being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick pending a Detention Hearing, authorities said.
