Pyong Hyun "Brandon" Yoon, 40, was ordered held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail on computer-related theft charges after detectives from the county prosecutor's White Collar Crimes Unit and Fort Lee and Edgewater police.
An April 29 arraignment was set.
A joint investigation began Wednesday after officials from Southpole / Wicked Fashions Inc. notified Fort Lee police, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbil Grewal said Saturday.
Yoon, who worked as assistant managing accountant for the company, continued swiping money from his former employer after he left the company this past December, the prosecutor said.
Yoon, who lives in the luxury Hudson Park high-rise off River Road facing Manhattan, was "entrusted with overseeing cash transactions through an expense account and was responsible for making account journal entries and completing the reconciliation," the prosecutor said.
He began tapping into the expense account five years ago "via the online and mobile banking platforms" and used the money to pay personal expenses, he said.
He covered it up by doctoring an account journal, Grewal said.
