PAPD officers who received a 9:30 a.m. alert Tuesday from their colleages in Piermont and at the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police found Patricia E. Miller walking around the 2004 Acura, its engine still running, in a safety area of the GWB approach, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
Asked whether she'd been involved in a crash 40 minutes earlier, Miller reportedly told a responding officer that a truck “pulled out in front of me and I hit a bush.”
The officer "noted a strong odor of alcohol" on her breath, Pentangelo said.
She "lost her balance and was unsteady while walking and swaying while standing," then failed field and breath tests and was arrested he said.
Piermont police issued Miller a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.
