Port Authority PD: GWB Toll Evader Owes $17,500

FORT LEE, N.J. -- A Bronx driver who blew through a George Washington Bridge E-ZPass lane Friday morning owed nearly $17,500 in unpaid tolls and fines, Port Authority police told Daily Voice.

Gabriel Arturo Urbano, 25, had committed 268 violations when Port Authority Police Officer Lionel Gonzalez stopped his 2008 Ford Edge after it passed a lower level toll around 9 a.m., the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

The Ford was impounded and Urbano was arrested on charges theft of services, toll evasion and failure to observe a directional sign, he said.

There was no disruption to traffic as a result, Pentangelo said.
