The uniformed officer signaled Andri P. Matos to stop her 2015 Nissan Sentra at the Holland Tunnel toll plaza Wednesday morning, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
Matos "acknowledged the officer signaling to stop but drove straight ahead in an effort to flee back into traffic," Pentangelo said.
She "finally came to a stop when it was impossible for her to drive on due to traffic" and was taken into custody.
Police discovered outstanding warrants from Totowa and Caldwell.
The PAPD charged Matos with aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding and bail jumping, and issued her summonses.
She was released pending a court date.
The officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a hand injury.
