Mario L. Denmark, 36, of Charleston, S.C., was arrested along with his passenger, Dylan J. Robicheau Sprague, 23, of Winterport, ME, on weapons charges, the Port Authority's Joseph Pengantelo told Daily Voice.

Denmark also was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft and was issued a series of summonses, Pentangelo said.

Both were ordered held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

Officers stopped their Dodge around 6 a.m. Tuesday, he said.

Denmark "exhibited signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol," Pentangelo said. "A loaded Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun also was recovered from the auto."
