The driver, an 80-year-old Bronx man, was issued summonses for careless driving and failing to comply with the officer’s instructions, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

As reported here last night, the officer was handling a minor traffic accident just before 10 p.m. when he was struck.

He was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Pentangelo said.
