Palisades Park waiter charged with raping incapacitated woman, 21

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Detectives today charged a 22-year-old waiter from Palisades Park on charges of raping an incapacitated woman he met earlier that night in New York City.

Jeffrey Lopez was being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, records show.

The 21-year-old woman told the NYPD that she was among a group of partying friends who returned to the borough from the city with Lopez on Friday night, a law enforcement source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

She reported the alleged report the next afternoon to city police, who directed her to contact borough or Bergen County authorities.

A detective from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit interviewed the woman, leading to Lopez’s arrest late last night.
